Dead Rising 3 was, until recently, an Xbox One 'exclusive', and it's pretty clear that PC was not the principal development platform. This is not one of Capcom's finest ports. It's a system hog, and you'll need a substantial PC to run it on high settings. It's also locked to 30 frames per second from the box, which makes the slow, heavy combat feel even more sluggish.
The PC version, which premiered September 5, 2014 has been subject of some controversy after it was revealed during a Twitch flow of the match that it would be locked at 30 frames per second. Capcom has revealed that the choice to unlock the framerate would be available, however they couldn't ensure that the game will run smoothly or stable. On June 16, a developer of Dead Rising 3 has shown on the Steam forums that uncapping the framerate wouldn't cause harm to the game. He performed his tests on three different PCs.
Two standalone downloadable expansions were released for the game, exclusively for Xbox Since March 2017, the two are retro compatible with Xbox One, although unlike the main game, none of the expansions were remastered.:
