I tried to start with only battery and straight with the power supply no battery, but nothing makes a difference. Since 12 June, I could start the computer only once for 4 hours, and it shut down again.
However, now it is shutting down from 12 June When I try to change it on, it shuts down again almost immediately after pressing the power button. Basically, I can hardly switch on my laptop.
I have a problem like yours with my Sony Vaio VGN-CS11Z. I bought it on June 2009 and on January 2010 it has begun to present the following problem: it suddenly shuts down with no explanation. Then I try to turn it on again, and it keeps shutting down until the Operational System even begins to load. I've tracked the temperature in my CPU and GPU, and I couldn't find a relation with those sudden shutdowns. I have tested the memory, and it's okay. I guess it's some type of a issue with the motherboard.
Yesterday, I contacted the VAIO-Link and they told me to conduct full hardware diagnostics and check for when I am ready to enter the BIOS and send them the results. But, my laptop could hardly run for 7-8 min, and crashed during the full hardware diagnostics test. It could only demonstrate that at the first step of the test that the CPU OK.
In this specific clip I believe that ffwmv3 playback is superior to wmv9dmo playback in my low budget system. Ffwmv3 shows better detail, colors are better and playback is smoother. Very good news for 64bit users with no easy access to the external codecs.
