Harry James Potter was born on 31 July, 1980, to James and Lily Potter , two members of the First Order of the Phoenix at the height of the First Wizarding War, only hours after his classmate-to-be Neville Longbottom.

Conversely, Harry's mother Lily Evans was a Muggle-born, the first witch in her loved ones. Lily had an older sister, Petunia, who, after Lily's death, was forced to raise Harry alongside her son, Dudley Dursley.

Harry Jamis a half-bloodwizard, one of the most famous wizards of modern times. He is the only child and son of James and Lily Potter , both members of the first Order of the Phoenix. Harry's birth was overshadowed by a prophecy, naming either himself or Neville Longbottom as the one with the power to vanquish Lord Voldemort. After half of this prophecy was reported to Voldemort courtesy of Severus Snape, Harry was chosen as the target due to his many similarities with the Dark Lord. This induced the Potter family to go into hiding. Voldemort made his first vain attempt to bypass the prophecy when Harry was a year and three months old. During this effort he murdered Harry's parents as they attempted to protect him, but this failed attempt to kill Harry led to Voldemort's initial downfall. This downfall indicated the end of the First Wizarding War, and also to Harry henceforth being called the 'Boy Who Lived'.

The book was also adapted into a movie, the sixth Harry Potter film of the series. The movie Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was released on 15 July, It was directed by David Yates and the trio was portrayed by Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.

As the Potters were considered a pure-blood household, Harry was associated  paternally to various other wizards and witches through families like the: Blacks, Malfoys, Weasleys, and Longbottoms . Harry's only famous maternal relatives were the Evans and Dursley families, who were Muggles.

Rubeus Hagrid rescued Harry from the home, partially ruined by Voldemort's faulty killing curse, and was given specific orders from Albus Dumbledore to take him to his uncle and aunt. As Hagrid left, he was intercepted by Sirius Black, a close friend of the Potters, who pleaded for Hagrid to provide the baby to him as he was the chosen guardian in case of James and Lily's death. Hagrid refused, saying that he was under orders from Dumbledore to take Harry to his relatives. Sirius, though reluctant, relented and gave Hagrid his flying motorcycle to take Harry to Privet Drive, and left to find Peter Pettigrew, who subsequently faked his death and framed Sirius for his death and the passing of twelve muggles. Later this encounter with Hagrid is used to support the idea that Sirius Black betrayed the Potters to Voldemort.

Read through the script, and found a line where Dumbledore mentions a girl he had a crush on when he was younger. After reading it, she informed the filmmakers that Dumbledore is actually gay, and that his only romantic infatuation was with the wizard Grindelwald, whom he later had to defeat in a wizard duel. She later made this information public while promoting the final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

After the war, Harry became an Auror and helped reform and revolutionise the Ministry of Magic. Sooner or later, he married Ginny Weasley, with whom he had three children: James Sirius , Albus Severus , and Lily Luna . He was also named the godfather of Edward Remus Lupin. In 2007 Harry was promoted to Head of the Auror Office at the age of 26

, the child actor that plays Albus Severus Potter in the epilogue of the last movie, can be seen in this movie purchasing roasted chestnuts in a stand in Diagon Alley
. At the time of writing, these two appearances are his only acting roles.

For Harry's first birthday, Sirius bought him a toy broomstick
. In Lily's letter to Sirius, it mentioned that this broomstick was Harry's favorite present and that he had smashed a horrible vase which was a gift from Petunia. Lily and James also hosted a very quiet birthday. The only ones in attendance were them, Harry, and Bathilda Bagshot. The Potters owned a cat, but it's unknown what happened to it after Voldemort's attack.

, known for his use of stylized color palettes that often feature prominent earthy tones. In the beginning the film was extensively color graded, and due to the excessively dark tones, Warner Bros. requested Yates and Delbonnel to add more colours to the film, as they could barely see something on screen. Both Yates and Delbonnel were hesitant to do so at first, but after retouching some of the scenes, Delbonnel realized that he had overused the grading and the final product was better. Yates commented Delbonnel's work on the movie as 'The choice of angles, the intense close-ups, the pacing of the scenes. . .It's very layered, incredibly wealthy.' It was the first movie in the Harry Potter series to be nominated for a Cinematography Oscar.

Before the start of the 17th century, some of Harry's ancestors migrated to the US. The Potters once held strong ties with the Magical Congress of the United States of America.

Regulus Black , Lily Evans and Lucius Malfoy all were supposed to be one of Horace Slughorn's previous preferred students. They were among those in Slughorn's photographs. Still another photograph shown to Harry Potter was that of 'Daily Prophet' Editor, Barnabas Cuffe . Unfortunately, long shots or just the backs of the frames were shown. This resulted in deleted scenes for each the actors.

Has said that there is no university for wizards. This revelation has two consequences: first, that the professor salutation is an honorific; second, that individuals who wish to learn more than standard schooling must apprentice themselves to specialists in any given field, just as was done in the Middle Ages.
